1. Campaign Description
Whish Money S.A.L. (“Whish”) is launching a promotional campaign under which eligible Whish Visa cardholders will benefit from a 0% Foreign Exchange (FX) Markup Fee on international purchase transactions made using their Whish Visa Cards.
During the Campaign, the standard 4% FX Markup Fee applied on eligible international transactions will be waived and replaced with a 0% FX Markup Fee.
Whish reserves the right to amend, extend, suspend, or terminate the Campaign at any time at its sole discretion.
2. Eligibility
This Campaign is available to Active Whish Visa Digital Cardholders, Whish Visa Physical Cardholders and Whish Visa Co-Branded Cardholders.
Whish reserves the right to exclude any customer or transaction suspected of fraud, misuse, abuse, or suspicious activity.
3. Campaign Benefit (0% FX Markup Fee)
During the Campaign Period, Whish will apply a 0% FX Markup Fee on international transactions made using eligible cards where the transaction is conducted in a currency other than USD.
4. Eligible Transactions
The 0% FX Markup Fee will apply to:
The transaction amount will be converted based on the applicable exchange rate determined by the card network and/or processing chain (e.g., Visa and/or relevant intermediaries), without any additional FX Markup Fee charged by Whish.
5. Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) and Third-Party Fees (Important Notice)
To fully benefit from Whish’s 0% FX Markup Fee, cardholders are advised to always choose to pay in the local currency of the merchant or ATM (e.g., select EUR when transacting in France).
If a merchant, ATM, or payment terminal offers to charge the transaction in the card’s billing currency (e.g., USD), this is known as Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC).
Where DCC is selected:
a) The exchange rate is determined by the merchant or acquiring bank (and not by Whish).
b) Such rate may include additional mark-ups or charges.
c) Any DCC-related costs are outside the control of Whish.
While Whish will not apply any FX Markup Fee in such cases, cardholders may still incur additional charges and/or less favorable exchange rates determined by the merchant or acquirer.
6. Reversals, Refunds and Chargebacks
If a qualifying transaction is reversed, refunded, or charged back:
a) Any applied Campaign benefit may be reversed accordingly.
b) Refund timing and processing depend on the merchant/acquirer and may take several business days.
c) FX outcomes for refunds may differ from the original transaction due to exchange-rate movements and processing timelines.
7. Misuse and Fraud
Whish reserves the right to deny or withhold the Campaign benefit where it reasonably believes that a transaction or customer activity is linked to misuse, gaming, suspicious activity, prohibited conduct, or fraud.
8. Changes to the Campaign
Whish reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions and/or terminate the Campaign at any time, including where required for operational, regulatory, or risk-related reasons. Any updates will be communicated through Whish official channels, where applicable.
Relationship with General T&Cs
“These Terms & Conditions shall be read in conjunction with Whish’s General Terms & Conditions, which remain applicable. In the event of any inconsistency, these Campaign Terms shall prevail solely for the purpose of this Campaign.”
No Retroactive Application
“The Campaign benefit shall apply only to eligible transactions processed during the Campaign Period and shall not apply retroactively to transactions processed before or after such period.”
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
“These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Lebanon. Any dispute arising in connection with this Campaign shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Beirut.”
Strengthened Termination Protection
“Whish reserves the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the Campaign and/or these Terms & Conditions at any time, at its sole discretion and without prior notice or liability.”
